Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
Between Dijon and Nuits-Saint-Georges, the vineyard of this Grand Cru is planted in the commune of Gevrey. Etymologically, charmes comes from the word "chaume" meaning abandoned plot. The name "Chambertin" dates back to the Middle Ages and simply indicates that the field belonged to a certain Bertin.
Situation géographique et terroir
Between Dijon and Nuits-Saint-Georges, the vineyard of this Grand Cru is planted in the commune of Gevrey. The soil is clay-limestone covered with gravel. The vines find the necessary body and structure in the subsoil, while the upper layer gives the wine its finesse and elegance. Vinification
The grapes are sorted on a vibrating table on arrival at the winery. We vinify our Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru in thermo-regulated vats. Slow vatting and regular punching of the cap are carried out to extract all the finesse of the tannins.
