Situation géographique et terroir
Meursault is the most renowned village for the production of great white wines in the Côte-d'Or. Situated to the south of Pommard, the excellent quality of its Premiers Crus makes up for the absence of Grands Crus in the village. The ‘Blagny’ climat parcel is part of the hamlet of Blagny, which straddles the border between Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. This hillside, situated between 340 and 400 metres above sea level, was developed in the 12th century by the Cistercian monks of Maizières, the Fathers of Montrachet.
Vinification
Immediately after harvesting, the grapes are pressed as whole bunches in a pneumatic press, followed by static settling of the juice for 24 hours at 12°C. The must is then racked directly into barrels, where it undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, as well as ageing.
