Situation géographique et terroir
Situated above the village of Flagey-Echezeaux on the plain, this vineyard lies between Vougeot and Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits. It faces east. The Echezeaux cut across the entire hillside between Clos de Vougeot and the Premiers Crus of Vosne-Romanée. They offer more varied soils (generally Bajocian marl and stony subsoil). Depending on the Climats, they range in altitude from 230 to just over 300 metres (13% slope at mid-slope). Here, in the upper part, the soils are deep (70 to 80 centimetres). Pebbles, red silt, yellowish marl, etc. make up a fairly complex mosaic.
Vinification
Immediately after harvesting, the grapes are pressed as whole bunches in a pneumatic press, followed by static settling of the juice for 24 hours at 12°C. The must is then racked directly into barrels, where it undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, as well as ageing.
Light blond toast, 40% new barrels.
