This vineyard is located between 300 and 400 metres above sea level. The vineyard occupies the slopes of the valleys incising the Jurassic limestone plateaus, to the west of the Côte-de-Nuits.

Dégustation : Our Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Vigne au Roy Rouge has a magnificent colour, with a nose of blackcurrant, blackcurrant buds, very floral. More fruity on the palate, with aromas of small berries, such as raspberry, an energetic and greedy wine with a touch of mint. Nice structure on the finish.

Description

This vineyard is located between 300 and 400 metres in altitude. The vineyards occupy the slopes of the valleys incising the Jurassic limestone plateaus, to the west of the Côte-de-Nuits. The composition is identical to that of the Côte-de-Nuits, but the surface formations are very thin, or even non-existent. The clay-limestone soils result from the alteration of the limestone and marl of the substratum.

Vinification

Fermentation

Immediately after the harvest, the grapes are pressed in whole bunches in a pneumatic press, then we carry out a static settling of the juice for 24 hours at 12°C. The musts are then put directly into vats, the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations as well as the maturation are carried out in vats and barrels.

Elevage10 months in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels.

Light blond toast, 20% new barrels.

At once ripe, with fresh sour-cherry fruit, the nose also has a touch of wet earth in the fall. Impressive depth for this humble appellation, the acidity riper than is often case here, the gentle tannins neatly interlocking with this. No hero, but a delightful wine that gives plenty of Burgundy character for a modest price. Sustainable. Drink now.
