Côte de Beaune

Santenay 2018

Chardonnay 75 cl

The best parcels of Santenay are those to the north of the appellation alongside the vines of Chassagne-Montrachet. This village in the south of the Côte de Beaune is more than 80% planted with Pinot Noir and therefore produces mainly red wines.

Tasting : Our Santenay reveals a candied and sustained nose with notes of flambéed banana and a touch of woodiness brought by its ageing in barrel. It is a consistent wine with a certain unctuousness in the mouth but also a lot of energy.
Wine & Food Pairing : Grilled or roasted fish, Grilled & roasted vegetables, Soft cheeses (Brie, Camembert, Comté...)

Description

The best parcels of Santenay are those to the north of the appellation alongside the vines of Chassagne-Montrachet. This village in the south of the Côte de Beaune is more than 80% planted with Pinot Noir and therefore produces mainly red wines. The soil contains more gravel, marl and limestone which gives the grapes greater structure and richness. The result is a more powerful wine.
