Mâcon-Igé "Grand Terroir" 2022

Chardonnay 75 cl

Our Mâcon-Igé "Grand Terroir" is made from low lying vines in the commune of Igé, north of the town of Mâcon. The soil is composed of marl and clay on a limestone substratum, hence the minerality often present in the crus of this appellation.

Tasting : Our Mâcon-Igé "Grand Terroir" offers a perfect harmony between freshness and fruit aromas. Its woody notes show a good ageing potential. On the palate we find intense and well-balanced notes evoking a beautiful vivacity.
Wine & Food Pairing : White meat, Grilled or roasted fish, Soft cheeses (Brie, Camembert, Comté...)

Description

The history of Igé is inseparable from that of the hamlet of Domange, whose original parish centre is the church of Saint-Pierre, built around 953 by the monks of Cluny. The vineyards of the Mâcon-Igé appellation adjoin Azé to the north and Verzé to the south, where the landscape widens into a vast elongated basin. Our Mâcon-Igé "Grand Terroir" is made from low-lying vines in the commune of Igé, north of the town of Mâcon. The soil is composed of marl and clay on a limestone substratum, hence the minerality often present in the crus of this appellation.

Vinification

Fermentation

Immediately after the harvest, the grapes are pressed in whole bunches in a pneumatic press, then we carry out a static settling of the juice for 24 hours at 12°C. The musts are then put in vats directly, the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations as well as the maturation are carried out in vats and barrels.

Ageing12 months in French oak barrels

LE DAUPHINÉ
| mars 2025
