The Beaujolais vineyard, "one of the most sensual vineyards in France" according to the Revue de France, is over 50 kilometres long. The main grape varieties of the Beaujolais appellations are Gamay and Chardonnay. The vines of this appellation are mostly planted on granitic, slightly clayey soils. This environment gives our Beaujolais Villages a remarkable lightness and freshness.
Vinification
The whole bunches of Gamay are vinified according to a specific method called Beaujolais vinification. The fermentation periods are relatively short but the maturing period of several months allows the wine to refine its structure while giving it remarkable aromatic notes.
